Bethany Edge has recently completed a Level 2 Business and Administration course. Structured over 12 months, she has been working with a variety of staff to complete her apprenticeship here at First Ark.
“It was really good, I got to meet managers and employers and I enjoyed working with the different teams. It’s given my confidence a massive boost. I spoke at an event and Knowsley Council where there, they gave me really positive feedback. Leann Hearne, the CEO at First Ark came and gave me a card telling me how well I had done and congratulating me.”
Beth completed her A Levels and stepped straight into the course as University wasn’t the right option for her.
“I live in Northwood and it’s quite a deprived area. I know sometimes people there feel like there are no options or opportunities, but I’d definitely recommend the training I’ve done, I’ve met lots of new people and gained great experience.”
Since completing the course, Beth is now in full time employment as an Independent Living Advisor at the Watch Factory, First Ark’s extra care facility.
“It’s good to work in a business that benefits local people,” she commented, “I feel like I’m helping those who are nearby, in my own community. It’s not just like being in a classroom, its real life experience. The company have been supporting me and helping me progress, they work with you to get the best out of you so that you can succeed.”
